The end of 2013 has brought change to the bakery.  Seems I have been plagued with equipment problems. If one machine isn’t broken, another one is.  The latest has been a reoccurrence of the big mixer being down again.  I’ve yet to finish paying for the last repair on the old girl.  Add to that two cooling units that are hanging on by thread and the building itself settling at an alarming rate at a time when few customers are coming in and we find a small bakery in crisis.
I feel it is time to step back and take a new look at possibilities.  These next few months should be good for that.
With a heavy heart, I am closing Wild Mountain Rose Bakery as of December 31, 2013.
This will allow me time to re-evaluate cost and profitability, how to best use my time, revive my cabin rental business and explore other avenues of possibility.  I will also be able to spend more time with Gary and my grandchildren.
My apologies for the lack of notice about the closure.   The business has been limping along quite a while now, with expenses becoming losses.  The slow winter to come follows a slow autumn season, few people means few sales.  I will keep everyone posted if anything changes.
I wish to thank all of you for allowing me to share my passion for good tasting, healthy food with you.  Plus those who assisted me, I didn’t do this alone
Thanks for recognizing with me the responsibility of putting only the best, healthiest ingredients into our bodies.  Yes, healthy eating can be an enjoyable process.
I want you all to know how greatly appreciative I am for your support and your friendship.  The last five years YOU have been favorite part!

Allow me to add that Connie is not only a skilled and knowledgeable chef and baker, she is a strong, smart, courageous and caring woman.  I have been married to her for more than 4 decades and she continues to amaze me daily. This has been a tough decision for her, mostly because she does not want to disappoint anyone.   I could not be more proud of Connie.
